I’m recording commuter casts all the time now because I’m losing my mind/reaching a new level of consciousness. (You be the judge!) My download numbers are lower now because I’m no longer getting traffic from OkCupid because I’m no longer doing online dating. I talk about how I felt seeing the numbers go down and new realizations I’ve had. The bottom line is I’ve some how concluded that I don’t care if I lose listeners and might try to do so intentionally? Unsure right now, just following my gut. Listen, or don’t. Doesn’t matter–it is for me.

Real question: if you don’t want to care what people think and if you don’t want people to casually drop and listen, how are you supposed to tell if it’s any good? Calling it great would imply that it’s compared to something. What is it greater than or worse than? Personally I’ve listened to every one of the Pcasts front to back. I guess I’m one of the 30 you want around…lol
Thank you! That means a lot, and makes me question my point about OkCupid since you found me via OkCupid.
I have a few more episodes I haven’t uploaded yet. I think I might uncover the answers to your questions on those. I do want listeners–casual and loyal alike. I just don’t want to feel like I’m podcasting a certain way FOR them. I am podcasting for others, of course, because that’s the whole reason I put it online. But I want to do what I want to do and attract people (like you!) who like it, not do what I THINK the largest number of audience members want to do.
Much less about the audience and more about my tangled brain, but I think I worked through a lot of it this week.
